This is the second largest tank in the world in the Churaumi Aquarium in Okinawa. It holds 7,500 cubic metres of water and has eighty species swimming around, including four whale sharks. For a calming and mesmerising 5 minutes, play the video full screen and… relax.

Toyota commissioned type designers and a talented driver to design a font. They had a camera positioned over the car tracking the driver’s movements. The result is a nice graphic font with a lot of detail.

Watch the video and get the free font here.
By the way, the beautiful deep red colour in the graphic above was borrowed from my brother Mahmood.

This really brings back memories of watching dubbed Japanese anime in Bahrain. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Gundam robots, Bandai constructed this 59-foot replica of the toy in Tokyo’s Odaiba Shiokaze park. The attention to detail is fantastic. This robot moves it’s head, has mist coming out of its vents and… lights up at night.
There are lots of photos on Flickr. I’d give my left arm for the chance to see and photograph this spectacular robot. Unfortunately it’ll only be up for a couple of months and I can’t see a trip to Tokyo happening any time soon.
Ah well, one day perhaps. Click on the photos for more detail.

Dateline is a free application which puts a month-view calendar line on the desktop and it does that beautifully. I love minimalism in applications (well, in everything really) and this app is prefect in that sense. You can customise the colours and width of the calendar, as well as whether the calendar is displayed above all windows or at the desktop level. Double-clicking any date will take you to iCal.
Here’s how it look on different wallpapers on my Mac. Click for a larger view.

A video for “Hibi no Neiro” by Japanese band SOUR. Absolutely fantastic!
