Apologies for the lack of updates. I’ve just returned from a 4 day shoot and I’ve been very very VERY busy. There’s a lot I plan to write about… the iPad arrives here next month, things I’ve been doing in Flame, lots of good software, links, and more.
While you’re waiting here’s the ad Apple aired during the Oscars last night.
This is the current satellite view of Southern England and yes it is as cold as it looks! And it’ll get colder over the next week or so. Click on the image above for a view of the whole country.
We missed having a white Christmas day but it’s certainly been cold and snowy right before and after. Still, our girls are thoroughly enjoying the weather and the walk to school takes twice as long, with all the snowball-making and mummy-targetting. Even Gillian’s getting in on the act, bashing me with a few rock-hard balls of solid ice and drifts swept in my face with childish ruses such as, “Oh no! Is that a little dog stuck in that car?” Like I said, childish.
And here she is, the sneaky snowballer in action. Hey, what the hell. Merry New Year everyone!
Apologies for the radio silence lately. I’ve had to hand back the laptop to my previous employer and am waiting for a brand spanking new MacBook Pro. Once that happens normal service will resume.
Happy New Year everyone and may things work out in your favour this year.
I’ve been too busy to write anything lately but here’s some news. I start with Prime Focus this morning after working at Absolute for 3 and a half years. More to follow!
For the past three years or so, I’ve been collecting an eclectic series of desktop backgrounds for myself and I thought it would be a good idea to share this. All my current wallpaper choices are here. Enjoy!
Meet Hugo Gernsback, the father of Science Fiction and inventor of the TV Glasses. This image is from a gallery by Life magazine titled 30 Dumb Inventions and it’s absolutely delightful. I mean which mother wouldn’t want to try the Baby Cage and what party wouldn’t be complete without the Yodel Meter? Fantastic.
Oh, and click on the image above to see it in its full glory.
Finally! It took a few days and loads of DNS issues with my ISP but haniblog is back online. I might write a post on the saga at some point but I’m happy to say that normal service will resume!
UPDATE: Looks like there are still some problems with the site. Doh!
UPDATE II: Looks like everything’s back except for a few comments. Let me know if anything else is missing. Phew, that was tough!
After installing Snow Leopard all my CS4 applications displayed the same error dialog above. So I went through the gruesome task of re-installing CS4 and I still got the same error. Even running the Adobe License Recovery utility several times (with several reboots) didn’t solve the issue. It was driving me mad! Fortunately, thanks to a reply to a post in another blog that it was solved.
Here’s how. I had to delete the following folder:
/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher
When I launched Photoshop it asked me for my serial number and once entered, all the CS4 applications worked perfectly.
Hi. I'm Hani and this is my blog. I also have some photos on Flickr, bookmarks on Delicious, tweets on Twitter and generalities on Facebook as well. Most of the time I can be found at Prime Focus in London, crafting commericals using Flame.
