Jarrett Heather’s amazing, fun, creative, brilliant kinetic typogaphy animation. Love that term.

Chromeo: Don’t Turn the Lights On

This made me smile. The new Chromeo video directed by Keith Schofield.

iPhone coasters

With Christmas shopping in everyone’s mind, may I offer up a novel idea for the iPhone geeks in your lives? Yes, iPhone application icon coasters. A set of 6 coasters for £12.99 and they come in three different icon packs as well.

Gillian, hint hint nudge nudge!

A robot rises over Tokyo

This really brings back memories of watching dubbed Japanese anime in Bahrain. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Gundam robots, Bandai constructed this 59-foot replica of the toy in Tokyo’s Odaiba Shiokaze park. The attention to detail is fantastic. This robot moves it’s head, has mist coming out of its vents and… lights up at night.

There are lots of photos on Flickr. I’d give my left arm for the chance to see and photograph this spectacular robot. Unfortunately it’ll only be up for a couple of months and I can’t see a trip to Tokyo happening any time soon.

Ah well, one day perhaps. Click on the photos for more detail.

This is why the internet is incredible

A video for “Hibi no Neiro” by Japanese band SOUR. Absolutely fantastic!

Terry Jones

Gillian and I went for a run in Hampstead Heath this morning. The weather was (and still is) beautiful. We were enjoying our run and chatting and suddenly realised that we lost our bearings.

We were trying to decide which way to go when we noticed a man walking his dog coming towards us. “Where do you want to get to?” he asked. Gillian started replying but I cut her off and blubbered “You’re one of the Pythons!” “Yes, Terry Jones.” he replied laughing. We shook hands and I managed say something along the lines of “Nice to meet you Terry!” He gave us directions, we thanked him and we went our way.

For the rest of our run I kept on jabbing the air in front and going “You’re one of the Pythons!” It’s not every day you meet one of your heros!

iPhone App of the Week: QuadCamera

I haven’t had so much fun with the iPhone camera. QuadCamera is a fantastically simple App that takes quick fire snaps and stitches them together in a grid. £1.19 in the App Store. Here’s a quick shot I took earlier today of Ric, one of the guys at work. Genius.

Bruce Lee.

A YouTube video where he plays table tennis… with a nunchuk. You cannot get cooler than this!

Okay, okay. So it’s fake. But still brilliant though!

NumberKey.

What a great idea! You download the NumberKey connect software, download the App on your iPhone, et voilà! An external number pad for your MacBook Pro! And with skins to match your laptop. Now if there’s only a way to keep the iPhone 3G from bobbing around while I enter timecodes….
